Meet Jennifer

The owner of Jennifer Mae Photography and Jennifer Mae education

With nearly a decade of experience running a successful photography business, Jennifer Mae Photography and a business degree from Wright State University, I’m passionate about helping fellow photographers build sustainable, thriving businesses. Over the past 10 years, I’ve navigated the challenges of growing a photography brand, mastering client relationships, and developing effective marketing strategies.

My background in business, combined with hands-on experience, uniquely positions me to mentor and guide photographers, providing them with the tools and insights needed to achieve long-term success in the industry.

Here’s what I want you to know more than anything…

Success doesn’t look the same for everyone. What feels like an incredible achievement to one person might not resonate with someone else at all—and that’s okay! Your version of success is personal, and it’s up to you to define it. As you plan your next steps, think about what really matters to you—what lights you up. This is your journey, and your version of success is entirely yours to create.

For me, part of my success included having a studio—a space that I could call my own, designed exactly the way I wanted. It was about having control over my environment for indoor work – ensuring every detail aligned with my vision. That studio became more than just a workspace; it became a symbol of the business I worked so hard to build.

Here’s a peek into my photography studio!

This space has been thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming, comfortable, and inspiring environment for clients. From session flow to studio setup, studio wardrobe, and comfortable seating areas – each detail supports both creativity and efficiency.

Niching Down

For me, finding success also meant discovering my niche. Early in my photography journey, I realized my heart was in capturing the sweetness, and incredibly short phase of newborns. I also knew I didn’t want to spread myself too thin trying to do it all; instead, I wanted to pour my energy and creativity into becoming an expert in this one area. By niching down, I was able to refine my craft, build a studio tailored to my specialty, and attract clients who shared my vision. Specializing allowed me to create a business that not only feels authentic but also brings me joy every single day.

Success looks different for everyone, and for me, it’s been about creating timeless images of newborns and building a business that feels true to who I am. Every tiny detail, every fleeting moment I capture fills my heart with purpose and gratitude. If you’d like to see more of my work, I invite you to explore my photography website here.

But now, let’s talk about you… what does success mean to you? Is it finding your creative passion, mastering your craft, or building a sustainable business that fits your life? Whatever your dream looks like, I’d love to help you make it a reality. Let’s work together to define your goals and create a clear path forward. If you are ready to start building your version of success, I’d love to help get you there!

Talk About It Tuesday - WEEK 3: Marketing Strategy Talk About It Tuesday - WEEK 3: Marketing Strategy

Tired of posting randomly and hoping it works?
Let’s talk marketing with intention. 🙌🏻

“How do I stop posting randomly and actually create a marketing plan that works?”
This is another common question I get as a business coach—and the answer starts with having a real strategy

Marketing doesn’t have to mean nonstop content hustle.
With a plan that fits your life and business, coaching helps you:
✅ Build a consistent marketing flow you can actually stick with
✅ Understand how to use IG, email, and your website together
✅ Plan out minis, seasonal offers, or new session launches
✅ Attract aligned clients—without shouting into the void

Let’s take a quick poll—
👉 Which part of marketing is hardest to keep up with? Instagram, Email or Website

You don’t need to do it all—you just need a system that works for you.
Let’s talk about what that can look like.

Monday Movement: Declutter Your Mind 🧠✨ Star Monday Movement: Declutter Your Mind 🧠✨

Start your week with mental clarity.
Just like your workspace or your closet, your mind can become cluttered—with worries, unfinished ideas, or mental to-do lists.

✨ Today’s movement:
Take 5 minutes to brain dump everything swirling in your head.
No filter. No judgment. Just write it all out.

Then ask yourself:
➡️ What actually needs your energy this week?
➡️ What can wait—or be let go entirely?

Clear mind = clear direction.
You deserve to move through this week with purpose and peace.

TALK ABOUT IT TUESDAY - WEEK 2: Clarity & Directio TALK ABOUT IT TUESDAY - WEEK 2: Clarity & Direction

“I feel like I’m doing all the things… but why isn’t anything working?”

It’s one of the most common struggles photographers face—pouring time and energy into their business, but still feeling stuck.

✨ The missing piece is often clarity.
Without a clear niche, message, or path forward, all that effort can feel like spinning wheels.

✨ Having someone to work with you—to help sort through each piece, prioritize what matters, and build a clear plan—can be a total game changer.

That’s why I offer my mentorship, where together we can:
✔️ Define your niche + ideal client
✔️ Align your brand message + offers
✔️ Get focused on what to do next
✔️ Build a long-term vision with confidence

You don’t need more hustle—you need aligned direction.

Let’s make content feel doable this week. 🙌🏻

If showing up online has felt overwhelming, here’s your reminder: it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s consistency.

1 post? 3 stories? A quick reel of images from from a recent session?
Choose a number that feels doable, not draining.

Then →
✔️ Block out 30 minutes to plan.
✔️ Focus on what your people need to hear from you.
✔️ Repurpose content—don’t reinvent the wheel.
✔️ Schedule or batch what you can.

Your voice and your work matter. Let this be the week you show up with clarity and ease.

Talk About It Tuesday – Week 1: Pricing & Profit Talk About It Tuesday – Week 1: Pricing & Profitability 💸

Welcome to the first week of Talk About It Tuesday—a new series where I’m sharing the most common questions photographers ask business coaches… starting with a big one: pricing!

The biggest and most complex thing photographers are constantly questioning and adjusting with their business is their pricing. I often hear “I’m not sure if I’m charging enough—or how to even figure out what I should be charging.”

Let’s be honest—pricing isn’t just about math. It’s about confidence, clarity, and creating a business that’s sustainable and profitable.

Here’s what we work through in mentoring when it comes to pricing:
✔️ Setting prices that reflect your time, value, and experience
✔️ Understanding your cost of doing business (CODB)—not just guessing
✔️ Building packages that naturally guide clients toward higher investment
✔️ Selling with confidence—without feeling pushy

If you’ve been winging it with your pricing (or undercharging because you’re not sure what it’s really worth)… you’re not alone. But you don’t have to stay there.

✨ What’s your biggest pricing struggle right now? Drop it in the comments or DM me—I’d love to hear where you’re at and support you in moving forward.
