Meet Jennifer

The owner of Jennifer Mae Photography and Jennifer Mae education

With nearly a decade of experience running a successful photography business, Jennifer Mae Photography and a business degree from Wright State University, I’m passionate about helping fellow photographers build sustainable, thriving businesses. Over the past 10 years, I’ve navigated the challenges of growing a photography brand, mastering client relationships, and developing effective marketing strategies.

My background in business, combined with hands-on experience, uniquely positions me to mentor and guide photographers, providing them with the tools and insights needed to achieve long-term success in the industry.

Here’s what I want you to know more than anything…

Success doesn’t look the same for everyone. What feels like an incredible achievement to one person might not resonate with someone else at all—and that’s okay! Your version of success is personal, and it’s up to you to define it. As you plan your next steps, think about what really matters to you—what lights you up. This is your journey, and your version of success is entirely yours to create.

For me, part of my success included having a studio—a space that I could call my own, designed exactly the way I wanted. It was about having control over my environment for indoor work – ensuring every detail aligned with my vision. That studio became more than just a workspace; it became a symbol of the business I worked so hard to build.

Here’s a peek into my photography studio!

This space has been thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming, comfortable, and inspiring environment for clients. From session flow to studio setup, studio wardrobe, and comfortable seating areas – each detail supports both creativity and efficiency.

Niching Down

For me, finding success also meant discovering my niche. Early in my photography journey, I realized my heart was in capturing the sweetness, and incredibly short phase of newborns. I also knew I didn’t want to spread myself too thin trying to do it all; instead, I wanted to pour my energy and creativity into becoming an expert in this one area. By niching down, I was able to refine my craft, build a studio tailored to my specialty, and attract clients who shared my vision. Specializing allowed me to create a business that not only feels authentic but also brings me joy every single day.

Success looks different for everyone, and for me, it’s been about creating timeless images of newborns and building a business that feels true to who I am. Every tiny detail, every fleeting moment I capture fills my heart with purpose and gratitude. If you’d like to see more of my work, I invite you to explore my photography website here.

But now, let’s talk about you… what does success mean to you? Is it finding your creative passion, mastering your craft, or building a sustainable business that fits your life? Whatever your dream looks like, I’d love to help you make it a reality. Let’s work together to define your goals and create a clear path forward. If you are ready to start building your version of success, I’d love to help get you there!

“Anyone else feeling like bookings are slower th “Anyone else feeling like bookings are slower than usual right now?”

If you’re nodding your head, I just want to say—you’re not alone.
I’ve been hearing this from photographers all over lately, and the truth is… it’s not just you. It’s not that you’re doing something wrong. The economy is shifting, inquiries are quieter, and yes—it feels discouraging when you’re pouring your heart into your business and not seeing the momentum you expected.

But here’s what I also know: slow seasons are part of the rhythm of a creative business.
They’re not always fun, but they can be the start of something powerful if you use them to reset, reconnect, and take intentional action.

If things feel slower than usual on your end, I’m putting together something for June that’s specifically designed to help you get over that hump—with real strategies that actually work in today’s market.

Stay close—help is on the way. 💛

Photographers, here’s the truth: if you don’t believe in what you’re offering, selling will always feel hard.

Selling isn’t about pressure or pitches. It’s about standing in confidence—knowing your work matters, your experience is valuable, and your images are worth preserving.

💡 If you’re struggling to sell your sessions or products, start by asking:
✨ Do I love what I’m offering?
✨ Would I buy this myself?
✨ Am I serving?

Because when you believe in your work, you don’t need a perfect script—you just need your voice. 💕

Talk About It Tuesday - WEEK 4: Let’s Talk About Talk About It Tuesday - WEEK 4: Let’s Talk About Your Daily Energy

A question I hear all the time:
“How do you balance running a photography business with everything else in life?”

Here’s the truth—you don’t balance it perfectly every single day.
Some days, your creative energy pours into editing, client care, and running your business. Other days, your energy is needed at home—your kids are sick, your partner needs you, or you simply need to rest.

And that’s not failure. That’s being human.

Balance isn’t about doing it all every day. It’s about checking in with yourself and honoring where your energy needs to go, not just where you planned it to go.

So today, ask yourself:
🌿 Where is your energy naturally leaning right now?
🏡 What’s asking for your attention?
📸 What can wait or be simplified?

Let go of the guilt that comes with shifting focus. Your business and your life both matter—and they both deserve grace.

If you’ve ever felt stuck, second-guessed your light, or waited for perfect conditions—this is your reminder:
Confidence doesn’t come from perfection. It comes from showing up, practicing, and letting the light teach you.

There’s no such thing as bad light—only different stories waiting to be told. 💡

Talk About It Tuesday - WEEK 3: Marketing Strategy Talk About It Tuesday - WEEK 3: Marketing Strategy

Tired of posting randomly and hoping it works?
Let’s talk marketing with intention. 🙌🏻

“How do I stop posting randomly and actually create a marketing plan that works?”
This is another common question I get as a business coach—and the answer starts with having a real strategy

Marketing doesn’t have to mean nonstop content hustle.
With a plan that fits your life and business, coaching helps you:
✅ Build a consistent marketing flow you can actually stick with
✅ Understand how to use IG, email, and your website together
✅ Plan out minis, seasonal offers, or new session launches
✅ Attract aligned clients—without shouting into the void

Let’s take a quick poll—
👉 Which part of marketing is hardest to keep up with? Instagram, Email or Website

You don’t need to do it all—you just need a system that works for you.
Let’s talk about what that can look like.

Monday Movement: Declutter Your Mind 🧠✨ Star Monday Movement: Declutter Your Mind 🧠✨

Start your week with mental clarity.
Just like your workspace or your closet, your mind can become cluttered—with worries, unfinished ideas, or mental to-do lists.

✨ Today’s movement:
Take 5 minutes to brain dump everything swirling in your head.
No filter. No judgment. Just write it all out.

Then ask yourself:
➡️ What actually needs your energy this week?
➡️ What can wait—or be let go entirely?

Clear mind = clear direction.
You deserve to move through this week with purpose and peace.
